The conceptual design and feasibility analysis for a Tech Center at LindenPointe was completed in 2005 with funding assistance provided through a $25,000 grant from the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania Department of Community & Economic Development (DCED). The Hermitage Economic Development Commission (HEDC) recommended and the City of Hermitage Board of Commissioners approved the project. The HEDC recommended acceptance of the conceptual design and feasibility analysis and continuing forward with the effort to secure project design and construction funding.

Input was received through extensive involvement of a diverse group of potential project partners including the technology industry, training and workforce development representatives and regional colleges, universities and educational providers. The Tech Center is envisioned as a physical business development and workforce training facility offering technology development and workforce training support for start-up, early development and established companies located at LindenPointe and in the region. The Tech Center facility is being designed to provide business development resources and tools to start-up and established intellectual property design firms, as well as to provide an environment that creates a collaborative workforce and training partnership to meet identified industry needs.
